Centre for Research and Development in Social Psychiatry in Västerbotten County (KunskC) is devoted to strengthen community based services for persons with severe psychiatric disabilities. We are engaging in research and educational efforts and debate related to thefield of social psychiatry.
Our owners are local social authorities, the county council, the social insurance office, the users/relatives organisations, Umeå university and the Association of Västerbotten communes.
We stand up for scientific knowledge, the ideas of normalisation and user's involvement in research and services. KunskC has operated since 1999. Our staff is located in the three major parts of the county.
KunskC is managed by Urban Markström, Ph.D., social worker and Mikael Sandlund, M.D., Ph.D., Assoc. Prof.
